<br />Prepared8/26/09dw Page 1 of 17 <br /> <br />20090813 City Council Minutes <br /> Mayor Buelterman called the Consent Agenda meeting to order at 6:30pm on Thursday, August <br />13, 2009. Council Members present were Mayor pro tem Wanda Doyle, Charlie Brewer, Barry Brown, <br />Dick Smith and Paul Wolff. Councilman Eddie Crone was absent due to illness. Also present were City <br />Attorney Bubba Hughes, City Manager Diane Schleicher and Planning and Zoning Director Jonathan <br />Lynn. <br />Mayor Buelterman listed the following items on the Consent Agenda: <br /> City Council Minutes for 7/23/09 <br /> Third Amendment to Ground Lease Agreement: Spectrasite Communications (American Tower) <br />including Memorandum of Understanding. <br /> Alcohol Application for Sunday Sales-Petitioner: Bikinis Inc. D/B/A Rock House Café, Joshua <br />Navon 1518 Butler Ave. <br /> One Day Alcohol License Application for Beer, Wine per Event: Eye Dawg Productions, Tybee <br />Lighthouse on September 26, 2009. Thomas Holland, Mike Modarelli. <br /> <br />Savannah Tree Foundation request for waiver of facilities fees postponed until August 27th. <br /> <br />Mikell Cates gave a presentation on a proposal to apply for a grant for water transportation between River <br />Street, Tybee and Dafuskie Island. <br />Mayor Buelterman adjourned the Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />Mayor Buelterman called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00pm. Those <br />present at the Consent Agenda were also in attendance for the regular meeting. Father Thomas Peyton <br />gave the invocation and everyone recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />Mayor’s Announcements <br />LNG Facilities Forum 5-8 Sept 3rd by the Citizens for Clean Air and Water at Desoto Hilton <br />The Department of Interior is looking to increase entrance fees at Fort Pulaski and is having a public <br />hearing on Wednesday, August 19th 5:00-7:00. <br />Latitutude 32 “First Year Latey the Turtle “celebration on Saturday, August 15th 2:00pm. <br />Donations are being taken tonight for Captain Matthew Freeman’s Memorial Scholarship Fund. He is a <br />Richmond Hill resident that was killed in Afghanistan. <br />The Mayor asked to keep comments short tonight due to the number of public hearings on the agenda <br />tonight. <br />Citizens to Be Heard <br />Tyler Marion gave an introduction of Forever Tybee, A Political Action Committee, on Tybee and gave a <br />power point presentation of what the groups’ philosophy and goals are. <br /> <br />Kathryn Williams, Tybee Beautification announced the Adopt a Hwy on Saturday, August 13th at 8:00. The <br />Beach Sweep T-shirt sponsorship forms have been mailed and she asked for citizens, as well as <br />businesses, support. The deadline is the 26th of August. <br />
